The Dussera holiday week followed by the gandhi jayanti weekend and the weekend next were just 21 terrific days of my PS 2. I had a prolonged vacation for 10 days during which for the first time i went to my new home @ bombay. The view is cinematic with the building surrounded by calm sea and on rajbhavan on the 4th with the governor's helicopter making racket every time it takes off or lands.
The icing on this was Shankar Ehsaan Loy's concert at IIM B cul- fest. The decision was so elevent hour-ish. I still owe them one ( Radha, KT and Sailesh )for the fantastic evening there. The 2 hour wait for the concert to begin was totally forgotten at the end of it. The entry was with percussion, the keyboard players, and small bits of music which gave way to Shankar starting off with his booming voice, "jhoom barabar" . crazy as the crowd was ,went insane over all his songs comprising from the movies of DCH, KHNH,TZP,johnny gaddar, bunty aur babli, lakshya and .....i dont remember more . The best part was shankar mahadevan without any problem, rather egotism I would say, involved the major part of audience in his songs for chorus, or atleast some part or other. Also the crowd was small and of course its bengaluru crowd. so it was delectation all the way. With me, jaffa and tss cut off from the rest of the party closer to the railing, the fun was unbelievable. Then went to meet the VishaL Enclave people Sauroo Pups Satya Congs Ankit Arup in bangalore. Played nice PokeR through the night and left early morning to return and pack up
If SEL concert was Icing I don't know honestly what to call this. Then the return to chennai and pressure of work was hardly on (;)(:P) before another concert this time from the legend himself A R RAHMAN . The "Jai ho" concert this time with iit friends, Iceman and anarki was al the more fun though the distance of viewing was not as close as the previous one, since when did a blog have to mention the popularity and craze for Rahman's music ?
The songs ranged from the latest movie then BLUE to his first bollywood movie Roja with sivamani on drums, naveen on flute, the jai ho rappergirl from france, HARIHARAN ( roja jaaneman )and CHITRA ( do) and Stephen devassy( worlds fastest key board player and who was with Rahman from the start) and BennY DaYaL (delhi 6 and taxi ) also graced the stage. The journey was 2 hour drive to near Mahabalipuram on the ECR and by the time we returned it was 3 AM in the night .. oh! only if I could have been a little more closer to the stage. After that the following wednesday this period terminated with the watchinf of "Ek - niranjan " in a torn chaired verma society theatre in the chennai suburbs with TMH and co with whistles all the waY.thus culminating the fantastic spree of PS. This 21 day period is unforgettable not only in the PS but will remain with me forever.
